- Do not spend much time cooking the vegetables. Keep in mind, vegetables are neither overcooked nor raw.
- Eat honey or jaggery instead of sugar, bran flour, and porridge instead of maida.
- Take a small piece of ginger (equal to the third part of the thumb of the hand) and fry it on the pan. After this piece cools, apply a little rock salt on it. Now eat this piece about five minutes before eating. It increases appetite and keeps digestion right.

- Food should always be fresh and hot. It is better for digestion.
- Ayurveda states that food should always be half of the appetite. With this, it is easily digested and the essential nutrients in the body dissolve well.

Drinking sip-water is like nectar
In Ayurveda, drinking sip-sip water has been described as nectar. You can drink water half an hour before the meal and half an hour after the meal. One can drink one to two sips of water during meals. Drinking water immediately before eating food weakens digestion. At the same time, drinking water immediately after eating food increases obesity. Drinking plain or lukewarm water throughout the day is considered healthy.
